Honda Atlas is one of the leading car manufacturers in the country. It has successfully launched 10 generations of Honda Civic in Pakistan in the last four decades. Honda is known for intelligent car designs and luxurious driving experience. With the gradual increase in car prices in recent years, car owners have raised their concerns while making car purchases in the country.
However, it seems like Honda lovers are willing to make any compromise over the price tag when it comes to the latest Honda Civic 2020. The last few generations of the famous sedan have made huge sales around the country. It is needless to say that the 10th generation is being well-received in the automobile sector. In this article, we will also talk about Honda civic 10th Generation price tag that has gone up on Pakistan.
If you are looking to buy your new Civic and want a close look at its latest features and price, wait no more. Here we have gathered all the details of the features equipped in Honda Civic 2020. You can find the details of the engine, body, colours, interior, and the price.
Honda Civic 2020 – The 10th Generation Civic
The new Honda Civic comes with a sleeker design upgrade and a more efficient range of engines. In Pakistan, the 10th generation Civic comes with new LED headlights, LED fog lamps, alloy wheels, shark fin antenna, and much more exciting features.
What’s New in the Exterior?
When it comes to the exterior, Honda has quite a reputation for delivering sleeker designs in most of its cars. The new Honda Civic 2020 is loaded with a sporty and aggressive exterior design. On the front end, you can find HIDs integrated with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), a sporty grille with dominating chrome accents and triple air intakes, and sleeker headlights. The overall frontal design of the new variant gives a high-end sport look that Honda lovers are loving.
If we talk about the rear end, Honda has retained the high-end design standards with a highly dynamic look. The taillights are designed in an angular C-shaped format that extends to the end of each side. The trunk has a compact look on the outside with more focus on the storage space. The aerodynamic design gives a powerful look to the back just in coherence with the front.
The sides present a completely modernized structure with convenient door spaces and classy windows. You can also find indicator lamps integrated to door mirrors that add to the overall beauty of the exterior.
Inside Honda Civic 2020
The interior has everything to be excited about. Honda has equipped the latest Civic with plastic trims of black and silver (polished) on the inside. The front and rear seats come in a unique combination of black, grey and ivory fabric to enhance the standard of the seating arrangement inside the cabin.
The standard features available in both the available variants include 5.0-inch multi-information display, push-button start, electronic stability control, power-operated door mirrors, traction control, a 12-Volt power outlet, keyless entry, and a powerful 160-Watt 4-speaker audio system. You can also find cruise control and navigation system in the all-new 10th generation Civic.
The overall look and feel of the interior are magnificent. From the dashboard to the rear seats, everything is fully intact and modernized. The gearbox has a classy appearance with a powerful gear shifting knob. The seats are highly comfortable and the steering wheel includes a big Honda logo in chrome giving it an attractive look.
Engine Details
The new Honda Civic comes in two variants as offered by the company locally.
Honda Civic 1.8 i-VTEC – This variant is relatively cheaper than the other one with some features to exclude.
The engine is a SOHC i-VTEC technology with a Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) fuel supply system. You can find Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), MacPherson Strut suspension on the front, and multi-link suspension on the rear of this variant. If we talk about the braking system, Honda Civic 1.8 i-VTEC comes with a 4-wheel disc ABS brake and an Electric Parking Brake (EPB).
Honda Civic 1.8 i-VTEC ORIEL – This is the fully-loaded variant of the 10th generation Civic offered in Pakistan.
The engine technology used in Honda Civic 1.8 i-VTEC ORIEL is also SOHC i-VTEC with the same fuel supply system as offered in the base variant. Overall, the engine specifications, as well as the transmission system and suspension, are the same as included in the base variant.
Colours Offered in Honda Civic 2020
The latest generation Honda Civic comes in a variety of elegant colours. Initially, Honda launched limited colour options for the new variant. However, now you can easily find the colour of your choice from the following.
Brilliant Blue Metallic, Urban Titanium, Lunar Silver Metallic, Rallye Red, Crystal Black, Taffeta White and Modern Steel Metallic.
You may need to check with the authorized dealer for the availability of the colours at the time of purchase. Due to the high demand in the market, you may have to pay a higher price for a few colours that are not easily available at the dealerships.
Optional Features
Honda has great news for all the fans. Now you can also choose some of the additional features to be included in your Honda Civic while you buy it. The company has launched only 2 variants of the 10th generation Civic in Pakistan. However, Honda Atlas played wise and offered a list of a few features that you can get with an additional cost to pay. The optional features can be included in both the variants depending upon the need or choice of the car owner.
These custom features include navigation, leather interior, utility package, modulo kit, and extended warranty (4 years). It is up to you how much money you are willing to spend on your new car to equip it with some or all of these options.
Safety Features
When it comes to a safe driving experience, the new Honda Civic is not behind in this domain as well. You can find multiple safety features integrated into your new car. The driver seat and the front passenger seat have front-mounted airbags offered in both the variants. You can also enjoy a safe parking experience with the reverse camera displaying the picture in the big multimedia screen.
Honda has included an EPB system that uses electric power to enforce parking brake. This is a very useful feature when it comes to steep driving areas where you have to apply the handbrake to bring your car at a dead stop. The electric power responds quickly and provides a highly stable brake without having the car struggling.
Direct Market Competitors
Honda and Toyota, both have their own pros and cons. However, for the last few decades, the two competitors have successfully gained the attention of automobile consumer market. The latest Honda Civic has 2 competitors in the market. Surprisingly, both these competitor variants come from Toyota. Toyota Corolla Altis Grande – the 1.8-Liter variant is a direct competitor of Honda Civic 10th generation with a few exclusive features.
The second competitor is Toyota Prius – 1.8 Hybrid variant successfully selling in the local market since the last decade. Although it seems unfair to compare a hybrid car with a non-hybrid competitor, many automobile experts believe that the two cars still face a competitive edge in the local consumer market.
Honda Civic 2020 Price in Pakistan
The new Honda Civic 1.8 i-VTEC is available in the market at a base price of PKR 37,29,000/- making it less expensive than the other variant. On the other hand, Honda Civic 1.8 i-VTEC ORIEL comes at a price of PKR 39,79,000/- in the local market. The difference in the price tag is subject to the features offered in both the variants.
Some of the industry experts believe that the price tag is a bit high. However, it is important to mention here that the halt in prices is mainly due to the increase in dollar prices. There are several other factors that make up the pricing situation in the automobile sector somewhat crucial. The recent policies planned and executed by the on-going government are taking time to ease the hefty price increments. For the past few years, the availability of cars has become another huge factor for increased prices. Private dealerships have started selling cars at a higher price because of the backlog.
There are currently no predictions about when we can expect the car prices to reach a justifiable point. Keeping in view the trend followed in the last year, the authorized automobile dealerships may increase the prices as instructed in the near future.
In a Nutshell
The new Honda Civic 2020 reflects an intelligent design strategy with a powerful performance-oriented 1.8-Liter engine. The new design is highly impressive and aerodynamic. It is needless to say that the 10th generation Civic has gained immense popularity in the country, especially among the young drivers. What makes it more interesting is the wide range of unique colours offered by the dealership. Honda has successfully translated its design aesthetic into the customer’s demands by creating a sleek and aggressive beast. So, if you are planning to buy your new car? Now is the time!

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Thursday hinted at the possibility of a dialogue between her party and the army from the platform of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) — an alliance of 11 opposition parties — but said that for any such talks to happen, they would have to be held in front of the public — not in secret — and only after the "selected government had been sent home".
In an interview with BBC Urdu, Maryam revealed that members of the security establishment had reached out to "many people around me but nobody has directly contacted me".
On a question whether she was ready to hold talks with the current army leadership, whom the PML-N supremo and her father, Nawaz Sharif, has accused of being behind his "ouster" as prime minister, Maryam said that the "possibility of initiation of dialogue from the PDM's platform could be thought about but after the selected government had been sent home".
"The army is our institution. We will definitely talk but within the limits of the Constitution. Talks will be held within the limits prescribed by the Constitution and it will be in front of the public, not in secret."
Maryam said that she was not "against the institution but if we are to move forward, the selected government will have to go".
The PML-N vice president said she was ready to talk to "all stakeholders". However, when asked whether she would talk to the incumbent government of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Maryam said that "the dialogue will be held with the people of Pakistan. It is being held with the people of Pakistan and it is going so well that the forces and the fake government are worried.
"They are so worried they don't know how to react and they're making such mistakes in their confusion that the mind is shocked," she said, adding that the people of the nation were the "real stakeholders".
'PML-N's politics not going towards dead-end'
In response to another question, Maryam said that the PML-N's politics was not headed towards a dead-end. Instead, she continued, the ones going towards a dead-end were those who had tried to make this temporary [government].
"Wherever we are going, whether it be Gujranwala, Karachi, Quetta or Gilgit Baltistan, only one narrative is echoing: vote ko izzat do (honour the vote) and riyasat ke upar riyasat mat banao (do not make a state above the state).
She added that the public had seen where this was going, which was not towards a dead-end but towards the supremacy of the Constitution and the law.
With regards to PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari's remarks that he was waiting for PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to bring forth evidence of his claims that the army interfered in elections, Maryam said her father had said the words but the evidence was in front of the public.
In an interview last week, Bilawal had said he was "shocked" when Nawaz named Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Jawed Bajwa and Chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen Faiz Hameed for being behind his ouster as premier, "bringing Imran Khan into power" and making a "state above a state".
However, he went on to say that Nawaz — who has served as the country's prime minister thrice — would not have taken the names of Gen Bajwa and Gen Faiz without evidence.
He said he would "wait for Nawaz to bring forward evidence supporting his claims".
During today's interview, Maryam said: "The reality of Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, Judge Arshad Malik and Dawn Leaks is in front of you. When you do not extend the tenure of [an army] chief, they start talking about something based on falsehood such as Dawn Leaks."
She emphasised that both the PML-N and the PPP had their own stance and the PML-N's stance was clarified by Nawaz Sharif.
'Karachi incident' report
Regarding the recent inquiry report on the alleged kidnapping of the Sindh inspector general of police in order to force him to sign the arrest warrant for her husband, retired Captain Mohammad Safdar, she said people had not gotten their answers. Rather, more questions had been raised.
"You are telling the people that some overzealous officers did this under pressure from the public's reaction. What public reaction was there? Those fake people who registered the case and then ran away, those three, four people are what you call public pressure?" she questioned.
She said that according to the Constitution, it was not the job of the institutions to give a reply to public reaction but the government's.
"The responsibility of institutions is to fulfill their professional responsibilities, not show overzealousness. Their work is not emotions but fulfilling their constitutional and professional obligations. If someone did in fact do this out of emotions, then it is a huge moment of reflection for the institution and Pakistan."
However, she said she "did not believe that such a thing happened. I believe some junior officers were sacrificed. It is very sad."
Imran Khan not a 'real problem'
During the interview, Maryam declined to comment about a "minus-Imran formula", saying it would be seen when the time came for it. She termed it a "sin" to hold talks with the incumbent government, saying that Imran Khan's government would have to go in order to take the country out of a recession, new and fair elections would have to be held and a representative of the people would have to be chosen to lead the country.
She said that she did not consider Imran Khan or the people around him a "real problem" because she did not think they were political people. "My party and I are against the thought that they represent," she said, adding that they represented everything that has to be erased from the country.
"Therefore, I consider any alliance with PTI equivalent to forgiving them which is not fair," she said. "I think it is time for their accountability not for an alliance with them now that they have been weakened."
Maryam, however, said that talks could be held with other political parties.
GB's provincial status
When asked whether the PML-N would support the PTI government in drafting legislation to give Gilgit-Baltistan the status of a province, Maryam said "just like with other projects, the PTI has also given their name to [the decision to grant GB provincial status]".
"The people know whose plan this was," she said, while expressing the hope that the people of GB would show confidence in the PML-N, who would not only turn the region into a province but also oversee the constitutional amendments needed to give it its fair share in the NFC (National Finance Commission) award."
She claimed that the PTI government would not bring the matter to Parliament but the PML-N would since it was only their promise.
Responding to allegations that she talks mostly about herself or her father in her speeches, Maryam said: "Wherever I go, I see supporters of Nawaz Sharif. If I don't tell them what they have come to hear, what the whole of Pakistan wants to hear, what should I talk about?
"I do not even want to take Imran Khan's name but he represents everything that should not be in this country. So when I talk about the inflation in prices of flour, sugar, gas and electricity, who else can I name but Imran Khan? And the biggest problem of the people is that their vote has been stolen."
Maryam alleged that the PTI government itself made items disappear from the market and brought them back at more expensive rates.
"The economic situation cannot be improved in the hands of these inefficient people. This is what happens when the vote is stolen," she said.

In order to increase Pakistan's testing capacity for the novel coronavirus, Future Trust and Opencell UK collaborated to launch the country's first robot-operated Covid-19 testing laboratory in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The Future Labs, which can conduct up to 2,000 tests per day, was inaugurated by British High Commissioner Christian Turner.
Future Trust — a non-profit organisation set up by the JS Group — has established the laboratory in Pakistan, using technology developed by Opencell UK. The NPO seeks to use advanced technology to address the problems caused by poverty.
The mobile Covid-19 laboratory is a Biosafety Level 2 Plus facility built in accordance with ISO 15189 standards and is equipped to meet the requirements for high throughput Covid-19 RT-qPCR testing. Since it employs five liquid handling robots, the lab only needs six people to operate shifts.
While speaking at the inauguration ceremony, British High Commissioner Turner lauded the initiative and said that the lab was "a vibrant example of a UK-Pakistan relationship built on people".
“UK is proud of having been in the forefront of the fight against Covid-19 in its efforts to pursue a vaccine and its distribution internationally, as well as for providing development assistance to a broad spectrum of Covid relief, through UK Aid, to Pakistan,” he said at the launching ceremony.
He also thanked Ali Jehangir Siddiqui, the ambassador-at-large for foreign investments, for "making him excited about the project".
In a tweet later, Turner congratulated premier's aide on health Dr Faisal Sultan, Opencell UK and JS Group on the creation of the "best automated lab in Pakistan".
Siddiqui, who was also present at the ceremony, thanked Turner for his support for the project and added: "This partnership between entities in the UK and Pakistan is of importance to us not just because the two countries are so close but also because this represents a partnership in life sciences which is the need for the world at this moment in time."
Head of Molecular Biology for Future Labs Dr Azeem Butt also welcomed the partnership and said that it was "heartening to see corporate organisations such as JS Bank and Future Trust working on innovation in science to fight Covid-19".
JS Bank, in a tweet, said it was "pleased to be a strategic partner" in the launching of Future Labs, which would increase testing capacity in Pakistan.

Former captain Younis Khan will continue as the men’s batting coach of Pakistan until the Twenty20 World Cup in 2022, the Pakistan cricket board (PCB) said on Thursday.
Younis is the only Pakistani batsman in Test cricket’s 10,000-run club and accompanied the side on their tour of England this summer.
“The PCB will also be utilising Younis Khan’s expertise and skills when he’s not on national duty as he will help local batsmen hone their skills,” PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said in a statement.
“This is part of the PCB’s strategy to appoint highly-qualified and respected coaches across all major centres of the country so that we can start producing cricketers who can represent Pakistan with distinction.”
The board said the appointment of Younis will be “until, at least” the 2022 T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in Australia in October-November.
Younis scored 10,099 runs and 34 hundreds in 118 Tests, and also played 265 one-dayers and 25 T20 internationals for Pakistan.
The 42-year-old said he was pleased to take up the job on a long-term basis.
“I am particularly happy that my scope of work has been extended beyond the national duties,” he added.
“I am equally interested and keen at working at the domestic level by identifying potential batsmen and then helping them improve their skills.”

BAKU, NOV 12 (DN) - Statement of Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France on the statement signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and President of Russian Federation on the cessation of all military operations is completely biased and contrary to its mandate as the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.
We should mention that the French Foreign Minister, with the statement that reflects a unilateral and clearly pro-Armenian position, has no authority to speak on behalf of the other co-chairs.
Unfortunately, we have not observed the French Foreign Minister making any statements during all these years based on its mandate as the co-chair and the country that voted as a permanent member of UN SC in favor of 1993 resolutions, on the implementation of the related UN Security Council resolutions.
We do not remember when the demand for an immediate end to the illegal presence of the armed forces of Armenia in the internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan and the return of those forcibly expelled from these territories was voiced by the French Foreign Ministry.
Maybe France is not interested in the gross violation of fundamental human rights of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis as a result of the conflict?!
France should not be concerned about Azerbaijan's legitimate efforts to ensure the country's territorial integrity within its international borders and restore the human rights of more than one million Azerbaijanis in full compliance with international law.=DN

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is actively engaged in negotiations with parties involved in a dispute over the $5.97 billion award against the country in the Reko Diq litigation.
The government is fully aware and defending the country’s interests, a source privy to the latest developments told on condition of anonymity.
The reaction came in response to a report issued by Law360 — a website that deals with news reports and analyses about legal issues, including litigation filing, case settlement, verdict, regulation, enforcement, legislation, corporate deals, etc.
The website claimed that the Australian copper mining joint venture has been given the green light to try to collect 50 per cent of the massive July 2019 $5.97 billion arbitral award against Pakistan following a dispute over a rejected mining project, so long as it agrees to repay those funds if the award is annulled.
According to Law360, the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) committee issued the order on Oct 30, saying Pakistan had not obtained an irrevocable bank guarantee or letter of credit for 25pc of the award — a condition laid out by the committee in September for keeping the stay of enforcement in place.
The ICSID tribunal was seized with a dispute between Pakistan and Tethyan Copper Company (TCC) which had claimed $8.5bn for rejecting latter’s application by the Mining Authority of Balochistan for the multimillion dollar mining lease in the province in 2011.
Earlier, Pakistan had taken the plea before the tribunal that the agreement/mining licence at Reko Diq was procured through corrupt means and therefore, the claimant (TCC) could not ask for damages.
However, both the parties — Pakistan and TCC — had met in London in Oct last year and had agreed to remain open for a negotiated out-of-court settlement of the dispute, the sources said, adding that the parties were still engaged with each other and hopeful that the matter would be resolved successfully soon.
The committee, Law360 claimed, terminated the stay of enforcement for 50pc of the $5.9 billion award, which the TCC won last year.
Earlier, Pakistan had welcomed a statement made by William Hayes, the chairman of the board of directors of TCC, in which he had expressed a willingness to work towards a negotiated settlement.
Mr Hayes had stated in his statement that the company remained willing to discuss the potential for a negotiated settlement with Pakistan and will continue to protect their commercial interests and legal rights until the conclusion of this dispute.
Then Pakistan had taken the stand that it had considered the July 12, 2019 press release made by Antofogasta Plc and the statement of William Hayes.
“The government of Pakistan welcomes this approach to work towards a mutually beneficial solution that works for both sides,” adding that it was a responsible state and the government of Pakistan always takes its international legal obligations most seriously.
Pakistan had also stated that the mineral resources in Reko Diq were the collective resource of the people of Balochistan and Pakistan, adding that Pakistan was keen for the development of this resource to ensure that the development needs of some of the poorest people on the planet were addressed.
The TCC is a 50-50 joint venture of Barrick Gold Corporation of Australia and Antofagasta PLC of Chile whereas the Reko Diq district in the southwest of Baluchistan is famed for its mineral wealth, including gold and copper.
