How much will a five-minute phone call cost now?

How much will a five-minute phone call cost now?

ISLAMABAD, JUN 26: There will be 75 paisas charged on phone calls exceeding five minutes starting July 1, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin announced Friday.

These 75 paisas will be charged for every minute if a phone call continued for more than five minutes.

On the average, 33 paisas are charged on every mobile phone call in Pakistan. Telecom operators receive Rs1.65 on every five-minute call.

The government charges 19.5% Federal Excise Duty on these calls. Mobile phone users will now be paying these 75 paisas in addition to the 19.5% FED.

From July 1, the overall tax on mobile phone calls lasting more than five minutes will reach Rs2.72 or 65%.

The government hasn’t imposed any new tax on internet and SMS services, according to Tarin.

Telecom sector has emerged as a prominent contributor to Pakistan’s economy. Its contribution to the national exchequer increased by 129% in 2020, compared to 2019, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The sector contributed Rs278 billion in FY 2020 as compared to Rs121 billion in FY 2019, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said in its annual report in January 2021.

The use of data stands at 4,498 Peta Bytes that shows a growth of over 77%, according to the PTA.

The country has international bandwidth connectivity of 3.1 Tera Bytes and around 47,000 cell sites, of which 90% are 4G-enabled sites.

Telecom networks are currently available to 87% of the population, according to the PTA. It is working with operators to increase their network coverage for the remaining 13% people of the country.

Local manufacturing of handsets has enlivened the telecom ecosystem, with growth in local 4G device manufacturing crossing 34%, the report said.

Pakistan experienced trials of 5G services that were one of the few firsts in South Asia.

5 SEO Tips for Non-SEOs in 2021

5 SEO Tips for Non-SEOs in 2021

Believe it or not, you don’t have to be a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) expert to be a good content creator. However, it’s super-valuable to know some tips and tricks to improve your rankings on Google and user experience.

Here are five useful tips that you won’t read elsewhere. Since Google has many updates each year, you have to keep up with your SEO game in 2021.

Let’s start!

1. Look for questions people are searching on Google

In October 2020, Google improved BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) with their research in AI (artificial intelligence). BERT is language understanding systems that understand users’ written queries on Google Search, thus providing more relevant results.

This update improved Google Search in a way that now the systems can understand:

  • misspelt words, thanks to the new spelling algorithm;
  • the context of misspelt words.

Now it’s possible to provide a user’s requested information in under 3 milliseconds.

How is this related to questions asked on Google?

The BERT improvement allows Google to capture and understand the context of the article and page itself, making long-tail keywords more important than ever.

Let’s take the example of the keyword ‘rich media’.

The term ‘rich media’ is a short keyword with less volume and higher keyword difficulty compared to the long-tail keyword that’s also a question ‘how are rich media ads different from other ad formats?’.

This long-tail keyword provides even more significant search volume and a lower keyword difficulty level.

This particular case proves that people search more and more by typing specific questions and looking for direct answers.

But how do you find the right questions?

You should focus on checking broader terms (short keywords) when doing keyword research because the questions will appear as a suggestion.

Then check pages that rank in the first positions and answer those questions better.

Remember that this question has to be included in your article as one of the headings or titles. Keep the answer to the question sweet and straight to the point!

So how to find those top pages?

If you use Ahrefs, scroll down in the keyword explorer, and you will see them. And in this particular case, the featured snippet for the long-tail keyword ranks Setupad.

Check the answer to a particular question on the search by typing the question in a Google Search.

As you can see from the image below, this particular site includes the question in its title plus the short keyword in the description. By this Google understands that this site’s article includes the information that users are actually searching for.

Remember to focus more on long-tail phrases because your competitors might be focusing on short keywords. Also, there is less competition, leading your article to rank in the first position on Google Search.

2. Add internal and external links

Yes, internal and external links are still important for SEO in 2021.

Here are ways to use them effectively:

Internal links

  1. Don’t add random links that don’t explain specific terms or add additional value for the user. For example, adding an internal link under the term ‘SEO tips’ takes the user to another article on the page ‘5 SEO Tips for Your Site’.
  2. If the internal link is reasonable, your article builds up a great user experience. By having internal links, you allow the user to spend more time on your site.
  3. Internal links increase the other page rankings too.
  4. If the user visits more than one page on your site, it increases engagement and lowers the bounce rate.

External links

  1. Add external links only if necessary.
  2. Link to pages that have high domain authority scores.
  3. If you have used some data, citation, or you see that this particular other site’s article will add value to your reader, link the page to it!
  4. By adding external links Google and other search engines understand what your article is about.

It helps to increase your rankings if your article is linked with the most valuable external sources.

Google’s algorithm follows the content that is linked. The first thing you can do is go through your articles and check if there is a possibility to link them. If yes, then great. If no, you can find a piece that’s related to it. And add it as a related article (the title of the article).

Example:

5 SEO Tips for Non-SEOs in 2021

3. Entity based SEO

Many SEO specialists now emphasize that content marketers should focus on entity based SEO.

Entity based means one word that can be captured in the whole article. It’s more like a context-based word that can define the article. The keywords within the article allow the search engine to give the best possible results for a specific entity.

For example, the user types in the word ‘ROSE’ (entity), and the search automatically provides several ideas of what the user wanted to look for –plant, actress, or song. The entity gives ideas for users to jump into the right category and find the information they were looking for easier.

Simply speaking, Google emphasizes entities over keywords, which has helped provide more precise results for users.

Keywords and entities go hand in hand. Keywords help entities to be defined. So, before conducting big keyword research, focus on finding the right entity and then do the keyword research.

4. Optimized URLs

Each year you should go through your blog articles and see if your URLs are optimized.

Shorter URLs rank better on search results, and it’s way easier for users to understand what your article is about. And this improves user experience.

Here are some useful tips on how you should optimize them.

For example, if your blog contains articles that have to be updated each year, don’t mention the year in the URL; it will make your life easier in the future. When you decide to improve or update the content, you should only change Meta Title where you include the new year, but the URL won’t change.

Example:

  • Non optimized URL

example.com/blog/top-trends-2021

  • Optimized URL:

example.com/blog/top-trends

Long URLs make it harder to share on social media because the entire URL cannot be visible and could feel fake or scammy for some users.

Another tip is to use hyphens instead of underscores because Google robots read the URL by hyphens.

  • Hyphens: –
  • Underscores : _

Example:

Hyphens: example.com/blog/top-trends

Underscores: example.com/blog/top_trends

Don’t use capital letters in the URL, because it can confuse search engines.

5. Focus on user experience

In June 2021 Google will roll out an official ranking factor update called Core Web Vitals. This update will affect sites with bad user experience, so make sure your content is easy to read and is user and mobile-friendly. Make sure you use images, videos, and infographics, maybe some animations.

Check how fast your site loads, how fast it interacts with the user, and whether it is responsive.

SEO works hand in hand with user experience; if SEO is more for search engines, UX is for your site’s users. Both of them have the same goal of providing the most relevant information for users.

Keeping an eye on UX helps searchers to find the information they are looking for, thus increasing your organic traffic.

Final thoughts

As a content creator, use the tips mentioned above to improve SEO and UX. Make sure you are on your content marketing game in 2021 and optimize your content frequently.

Some powers desire to keep sword of FATF hanging over Pakistan: Qureshi

Some powers desire to keep sword of FATF hanging over Pakistan: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD, JUN 26: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Saturday questioned the Financial Action Task Force's (FATF) decision to continue to keep Pakistan on the watchdog's "increased monitoring list", also known as the grey list, despite implementation on 26 out of 27 points included in the original action plan.

In a statement, Qureshi said there was "no room" to keep Pakistan on the grey list after it had implemented nearly the entire action plan, according to a report by Radio Pakistan.

The foreign minister said it needed to be looked into whether FATF was "being used for political purposes", adding "some powers desire to keep the sword of FATF hanging over Pakistan."

It was yet to be determined whether the FATF was a technical forum or a political one, the statement quoted him as saying.

Qureshi said whatever steps Pakistan took were in its own interests, emphasising that it was in Pakistan's interest to stop money laundering and terror financing.

A day earlier, FATF President Dr Marcus Pleyer said Pakistan would remain on the grey list till it addresses the single remaining item on the original action plan agreed to in June 2018 as well as all items on a parallel action plan handed out by the watchdog's regional partner — the Asia Pacific Group (APG) — in 2019.

"Pakistan has made significant progress and it has largely addressed 26 out of 27 items on the action plan it first committed to in June 2018," he said at a virtual press conference after the financial watchdog's five-day plenary meeting.

Pleyer, however, added that the item on financial terrorism still needed to be addressed which concerned the "investigation and prosecution of senior leaders and commanders of UN-designated terror groups".

He said Pakistan was still "failing to effectively implement the global FATF standards" across a number of areas.

When asked about the new action plan after the APG evaluation, Pleyer said the plan had "six action items including enhancing international cooperation and demonstrating that assistance is being sought from foreign countries in implementing UN Security Council designations".

Pleyer said even after the last remaining item on the original action plan was addressed, delisting would not occur as there was a parallel action plan that was also given.

EXCLUSIVE: Dear Muslim Ummah stay alert for the days ahead

Dear Muslim Ummah stay alert for the days ahead

Exclusive by

Editor-In-Chief / Farukh Shehzad

Malala Yousafzai, when she was in Pakistan… A drama was designed and created to make her way to Europe (London).

Malala Yousafzai recent remarks against building a relationship or marriage highly disappointing for the whole Muslim world.

How a Muslim girl can deliver such statement about marriage, it is not possible at all and it is unable to digest for the entire Muslim world.

I believe that what Malala said about marriage.. behind it, there could be multiple reasons.

Reason 1: By forcing, there is a definite possibility that someone might have forced her to pass away statement about marriage that 'If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can’t it just be a partnership?

Reason 2: Due to offering huge amount of money with all luxurious lifestyle and facilities, there is a definite possibility that someone might have offered her big amount of money for passing remarks against marriage.

Reason 3: Lack of her spirituality level, it could also be the reason due to which she had spoken against marriage because still, Malala is not a big aged experienced lady.

What can happen in future, Why we need to be stay alert?

Dear Muslim Ummah stay alert for the days ahead

After Malala’s statement about men and women for just living together without signing marriage (NIKAH) papers the western powers who forced her for passing these remarks now they will step up to the plan B.

In plan B, those western powers which are backing Malala and her statement they will now gradually transform Malala’s remarks into a story for composition.

These stories in the form of Drama Serials will be telecast on Pakistan’s TV Channels to destroy our Muslim values and culture but off course it will not happen overnight, it will obviously, take time to settle things up.

Drama serials especially in Pakistan society have big influence on people. It is the source of changing people mindset by giving them a chance of watching stories repeatedly on TV.

In future, Malala’s Statement will be given the shape of Drama’s to be telecast on various platforms for making that culture of “No need to sign marriage (Nikah) papers for men and women, Just live together”, as we see these trends all over European countries.

The main goal of Malala’s remarks is to introduce “We are not married, we are just living together” culture in Pakistan to damage the family system of Muslims in Pakistan.

Closing Remarks:

This is quite simple if you want to save your young generation derailing from the path of spirituality you must keep away from watching stories and drama serials like this that put negative impact on their mind.

Lastly, wanna say that keep open your eye’s and stay alert about what’s happening around you to stand solid on the path of “Emaan” and “spirituality”.

5 million micro-entrepreneurs to benefit from E-commerce and digital skills

5 million micro-entrepreneurs to benefit from E-commerce and digital skills

  • Extreme Commerce and Dukan.pk collaborate to empower people to achieve self-sufficiency through e-commerce and digital skills

ISLAMABAD, JUN 24: 82.20% enterprises in Pakistan are facing a cash flow shortage in the COVID-19 period. This puts a serious challenge for starting a business in Pakistan.

Although Pakistan ranks at 72 among 190 countries on starting a business on the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business Report 2020, the new dynamics demand a new approach for the micro, small and medium enterprises.

This gap has been filled by the two leading enterprises in Pakistan by joining hands, with a common goal of empowering the people of Pakistan to achieve self-sufficiency through e-commerce and digital skills, Dukan.pk has partnered with Extreme Commerce to help local businesses sell online.

Extreme Commerce is the largest online selling community of Pakistan with approximately 700,000 members.

It has trained and helped thousands of people to sell online in the ecommerce platform and generate over $100 million in sales through Amazon, eBay, and other platforms.

The partnership will look into the possibilities to capacitate businesses for online payments as well. 72.29% enterprises in Pakistan reported cash as the major payment method. 59.74% Micro Small and Medium Enterprises in Pakistan reported bank transfer method, 24.24% used personal cheque to make payments, 22.08% online payment method, 13.85% debit or credit cards, 6.49% money orders, and 4.33% used mobile payment methods.

The government plans to digitize cash on delivery (CoD) payments above PKR 10000 by the year 2022, and all CoD payments will be replaced with online payments by the year 2029.

Extreme Commerce’s Founder and CEO, Sunny Ali said, “It is heartening to see the emergence of local platforms like Dukan.pk to help sellers reach their customers. We are proud to partner with the leader in this space.”

He further said, “this partnership will allow anyone with a smartphone to gain e-commerce selling skills and equip them with easy-to-use technology, enabling web store creation, online payments, and delivery management.”

There are currently over 5 Million micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) in Pakistan that are eager to join the e-commerce revolution but lack the technical know-how.

Monis Rahman, founder and CEO of Dukan.pk, while reiterating his commitment to uplift small local businesses said, “Dukan’s mission is to let anyone with a smartphone sell online in under one minute.

Our partnership with Extreme Commerce will help accelerate this mission by complementing our platform with high quality e-commerce training for local sellers.”

Pakistan has an approx. 3.2 million SMEs. SMEs constitute nearly 90% of all the enterprises in Pakistan; employ 80% of the non-agricultural labor force; and their share in the annual GDP is 40%, approximately. However, unlike large enterprises in the formal sector, a small and medium enterprise is constrained by financial and other resources. This inherent characteristic of an SME makes it imperative that there should be a mechanism through which it may get support in different functions of business including technical upgradation, marketing, financial and human resource training & development.

To build a knowledge platform that can enable new thinking and innovation for the SME E Commerce approach, Extreme Commerce has already signed an agreement with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) as well. Extreme Commerce is also working with academic and research institutions across Pakistan and beyond.

Dukan.pk is a new revolutionary and free of cost E-Commerce App. Through this each store will get its own personalized URL.

There are 9 different payment methods with hassle-free stock purchase, sales report, inventory management and order history. Led by a team of industry veterans, Dukan has been able to create over 40,000 online stores, growing 350% monthly by average.

It provides local sellers with a free, easy, and effective platform to set up their web stores and sell online.

Extreme Commerce is Pakistan’s first EdTech start up with a sole focus on skills development and capacity building within the ecommerce and digital arena. Founded in 2017, it is the largest community of its kind in Pakistan, with well over 735,000 members to date and with over 100+ courses and income streams to choose from. We estimate that by 2025, our community will be 1 million strong, generating well over $1 billion in inward remittance for Pakistan.

Pakistan is Now Producing Sugar-Free Mangoes for Diabetics

Pakistan is Now Producing Sugar-Free Mangoes for Diabetics

ISLAMABAD, JUN 23 – Three new varieties of sugar-free mangoes with four to six percent sugar levels have been introduced in Pakistani markets for diabetics.

A Pakistani mango expert conducted scientific modifications of mangoes at a private agriculture farm in Tando Allahyar, Sindh, and produced three varieties of sugar-free mangoes.

The M H Panhwar Farms conducted research on and scientifically modified mangoes for five years. The resultant mango varieties have been named Sonaro, Glenn, and Keitt, and are available in the local markets.

The availability of sugar-free mangoes is a relief for diabetics because most of the calories in mangoes come from sugar.

M H Panhwar’s nephew and a mango expert, Ghulam Sarwar, revealed that the former had been an expert in organic farming and had authored a wide range of research articles and manuals on fruits.

He said, “The government of Pakistan had conferred Sitara-e-Imtiaz on Mr. Panhwar for his research related to fruits including mangoes and bananas. After his death, I continued his work and carried out modification after importing different genres of mangoes to test its growth in this atmosphere and soil”.

Sarwar explained, This project is being run on a personal basis and we are not taking any assistance from the government departments. I just want to introduce these varieties on the national and international levels. We think about national interests but not [using this project] for gaining profits for us.

“The Keitt variety has the lowest sugar level up to 4.7 percent, while Sonaro and Glenn have sugar levels up to 5.6 percent and six percent respectively,” he stated.

Biden’s reluctance in engaging Pakistan stunning, says US senator

Biden’s reluctance in engaging Pakistan stunning, says US senator

WASHINGTON, JUN 23: A senior US senator, Lindsey Graham, on Tuesday described American President Joe Biden’s reluctance to reach out to Prime Minister Imran Khan as ‘stunning,” and warned that ignoring Pakistan while withdrawing from Afghanistan could lead to a disaster.

“Stunning to hear that President Biden hasn’t reached out to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan regarding the US-Pakistan relationship and Afghanistan,” the South Carolina Republican wrote on his Twitter.

Senator Graham, who supports continued US engagement with Kabul and Islamabad, reminded President Biden that his planned withdrawal from Afghanistan requires Pakistan’s cooperation.

“How do we expect our withdrawal from Afghanistan to be effective without coordinating with Pakistan? Clearly the Biden Administration believes that our problems in Afghanistan are behind us,” he wrote.

The Republican lawmaker who also influenced the Trump administration’s Afghan policies warned that the Biden administration’s “decision to withdraw all forces and not stay engaged with Pakistan is a major disaster in the making, even worse than the blunder in Iraq.”

President Biden’s reluctance to engage with Pakistani leaders was highlighted in an interview the prime minister gave to an American television channel earlier this week when the interviewer asked him if he had spoken to Mr. Biden since he took office. “No, I have not,” the prime minister said.

“Is there a reason for that?” the interviewer asked. “Whenever he has time, he can speak to me. But now, clearly, he has other priorities,” the prime minister said.

Pakistan’s key role in a post-withdrawal Afghanistan echoed at several recent hearings in the US Congress as well. At one of these hearings, lawmakers also referred to a recent statement by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, stating that Pakistan will now play a decisive role in determining Afghanistan’s future and the United States will only have a minor role now in the country after the troop pullout.

Congressman Ted Lieu, a California Democrat and a former US Air Force colonel, asked if Pakistan was so important for the success of the Afghan peace process, why was it not being treated accordingly.

“I am just curious about what happened earlier this year when 40 world leaders were invited to the climate summit, including the leaders of India and Bangladesh. And the leader of Pakistan was not invited, even though Pakistan is the fifth most climate vulnerable country. Even though 35 of the 40 countries invited have populations smaller than Pakistan’s,” he said.

“It seems to be disrespectful to not have invited the Pakistani leader to this climate summit when the leaders of India and Bangladesh were invited.”
