2021 China Tourism and Culture Week to kick off in Pakistan


ISLAMABAD, JUN 14: China Cultural Center in Pakistan will launch a series of online activities to celebrate “2021 China Tourism and Culture Week” in mid-June.

The theme of the event is to promote the image of "Beautiful China", and tell the story of China by focusing on three major sections, which are "Beautiful Countryside and Intangible Heritage Protection", "Ice and Snow Tourism" and "Food Culture".

It also aims to promote the Beijing Winter Olympics, and showcases the charm of Chinese Culture and Tourism.

So join us online to appreciate and experience China's magnificent natural scenery, colorful cultural deposits, rapid urban and rural development, and the beautiful visualization of people living and working in peace and contentment.

In the following weeks, China Cultural Center in Pakistan will be sharing a variety of interesting virtual and online activities through short videos, H5 mini-programs, trailers and posters covering performance, culture, cultural heritage, cuisine, beautiful landscapes and more.

Focusing on key projects of "Belt and Road" international cooperation in cultural and tourism industries, 6 distinctive tourism performing arts projects are selected and reproduced into short videos.

With the assistance of a H5 publicity program for mass communication, the broadcasting of the videos will mainly use the official website of cultural and tourist institutions abroad, and the local social media platforms designated for overseas promotion of these products during China Tourism and Culture weeks around the world.

Arts, Culture and Nature includes the best of art shows for tourism of China.

Some major cultural activities and project and activities of 2021 China Tourism and Culture Week include Creativeness of Craftsmanship, Yunnan Pottery,  Beautiful China and The food-themed micro documentary A Taste of China.

Creativeness of Craftsmanship: The Beautiful Countryside by Design is a project curated and executed by Beijing Saisi Boyi Culture and Art Co., Ltd. (directly affiliated with the Center of International Cultural Exchange) and Sichuan Fine Arts Institute.

Based on the research on rural cultural resources by fine arts academies from the perspective of creative design in recent years, the project aims at reinventing rural craftsmanship and catalyzing rural development.

By discovering the pathway to rural revitalization, the project reveals the idyllic beauty of the countryside, unveiling the "sweep changes" of China's rural landscape in the new development stage.

Yunnan Pottery: Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Microclass. Yunnan province, located in the southwest of China, has a picturesque landscape and a long history of pottery making. It has a number of pottery-making skills, which belong to national intangible cultural heritage.

Jianshui Purple-Pottery found along the Red River, Nixi Black-Pottery of Shangri-La, Dai nationality Slow-wheel Pottery of Xishuangbanna, Blue and white pottery of Yuxi, Jinsha Pottery in old town of Lijiang...The rich natural resources and the colorful multi-ethnic culture are well-integrated to created splendid traditional handicrafts, which have been inherited for thousands of years and continue to shine.

Clay is the gift of nature, condenses people’s respect and reverence for nature of all ages. When it gradually takes shape in the hands of craftsmen, the clay seems to take on human nature with the magic of art.

Beautiful China - Ice and Snow Tour Series of Short Video Shows focuses on the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and the winter tourism resources in northern China.

This video series also introduces Chongli’s Taizicheng Town, one of the venues for the Winter Olympics, and the natural winter landscapes, folk customs and winter sports in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Xinjiang, Shandong and Inner Mongolia.

The series allows friends from across the world to enjoy China’s myriad winter tourism attractions and unique winter culture online.

The food-themed micro documentary A Taste of China is a journey of Xinjiang Cuisine. There are five episodes in first series, these episode cover five representative cities (Urumqi, Turpan, Altay, Ili and Kashgar) from different regions of Xinjiang, China.

A variety of border-less narrative techniques combining food, humanities and tourism are employed. Audience is expected to take a special journey to enjoy delicious food, unique customs, natural scenery, as well as the real life and timeless aesthetic connotation in different regions and cities of Xinjiang.

It will encourage a profound emotional resonance with the audience.

BAKU, MAY 25: Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping has sent a letter of congratulations to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

“On behalf of the government and people of the People's Republic of China and on my own behalf, I am honored to extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to you and the friendly people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of your country’s national holiday - the Republic Day,” the Chinese leader said in his letter.

“The China-Azerbaijan relations are experiencing dynamic progress. Our countries support each other on issues of mutual interest.

President Arif Alvi, Xi Jinping hailed Iron-Brotherhood between Pakistan and China


ISLAMABAD/BEIJING, MAY 2021: On 21 May, the top leadership of Pakistan and China exchanged special messages to congratulate the peoples and governments of the two countries on 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China. The messages were exchanged between the Presidents, the Prime Minister/Premier and the Foreign Ministers of the two countries. 

In their messages, President Dr. Arif Alvi and President Xi Jinping hailed Iron-Brotherhood between Pakistan and China which has been elevated to all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between in last seven decades. They paid rich tribute to the successive generations and leadership of the two countries who made great sacrifices to lay a sound foundation of this fraternal relationship.

Exchanging their special messages on the occasion of the 70th anniversary celebrations, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Premier Li Keqiang highlighted that Pakistan-China ties are rooted in bilateral trust, mutual understanding and commonality of views on major global challenges. Reviewing the steady development of economic and trade relations, Prime Minister Imran and Premier Li observed that Pakistan and China would continue their successful cooperation to make CPEC a high quality development project of the Belt and Road Initiative.

In their messages, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi noted with satisfaction that bilateral ties are expanding in diverse fields of cooperation as per the aspirations of peoples of both nations. They highlighted that by virtue of close coordination and communication at all tiers, both countries have extended unflinching support to each other on their respective core issues both bilaterally and at multilateral fora.

In their messages, the Chinese leadership extended strong support to Pakistan in its fight against COIVD-19 and assured that China would continue extending unwavering assistance to Pakistan for provision of COVID-19 vaccines to defeat the pandemic.

BEIJING, MAY 2021: On 21 May, A grand reception was held at the Diaoyutai State House to mark the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China. The reception was attended by the diplomatic envoys, high ranking Chinese officials, businessmen, intellectuals, representatives of media organisations and prominent citizens from both sides. 

The event was jointly hosted by the Embassy of Pakistan in China and Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with the Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).

Wang Qishan, the Vice-President of the People’s Republic of China especially graced the event. Speaking at the occasion, Vice-President paid glowing tribute to the succeeding generations and leadership of two countries for their sacrifices to deepen Pakistan-China friendship. 

Reaffirming China’s strong commitment to strengthening strategic ties with Pakistan, the Vice-President said that Pakistan-China ties were driven by mutual respect, bilateral understanding and commonality of interest. Vice-President Wang added that the two countries would continue deepening their friendship for the prosperity of their peoples and regional peace and stability.

Thanking Vice-President Wang for his warm sentiments for Pakistan, Ambassador Moin-ul-Haq said that friendship between Pakistan and China was unprecedented in history of inter-state relations due to its scope and depth. He added that 70th anniversary was an opportune moment for the two sides to take pride in their past achievements and reaffirm their resolve to expand bilateral friendship to new areas of cooperation.

During the reception, Vice-President Wang and Ambassador of Pakistan also cut a special cake to celebrate the event. The children of Pakistan and China, dressed in traditional dresses, sang national songs which were deeply appreciated by the audience.

The event was moderated by Mr. Lin Songtian, the President of CPAFFC.

Ambassador of Pakistan Meets Vice-President of China


BEIJING, MAY 2021: On 21 May, Ambassador of Pakistan Moin-ul-Haque met with Wang Qishan, the Vice President of People’s Republic of China. The meeting was held at the Diaoyutai State Guest House at the side-lines of the reception held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China.

Thanking Vice-President Wang for the meeting, Ambassador Moin conveyed to him best wishes of Pakistani leadership for his contributions to Pakistan-China friendship. He highlighted that due to massive support of the government and people of the two countries, Pakistan and China were celebrating the 70th anniversary with tremendous enthusiasm and passion.

 Ambassador Moin underscored that friendship with China was a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and that the government of Pakistan would resolutely continue to deepen bilateral ties with China in all areas of mutual interest.

In his remarks, Vice-President Wang Qishan said that Pakistan and China were all-weather strategic cooperative partners, iron-brothers and most reliable friends. He highlighted that Pakistan-China friendship would serve the best interests of the peoples of two countries and also remain as the guarantor of regional peace and security. Vice-President added that China attached immense importance to its ties with Pakistan and would continue developing bilateral strategic relations as envisaged by the leadership and peoples of two countries. Recalling his visit to Pakistan in 2019 as an element of high level bilateral engagements, Vice-President Wang conveyed message of goodwill to the government and people of Pakistan. 

The meeting was also attended by high level officials of two sides including Mr. Luo Zhaohui; Chairman of CIDCA; Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Jianghao; Mr. Lin Songtian, President of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Ambassador Sha Zukang, President of China-Pakistan Friendship Association.
